April 10, 1912

Good morning and welcome to RMS Titanic. I will have the honor of
serving as your steward for this voyage. It will be my pleasure to
make your trip as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. I trust you
find your stateroom to your liking. Titanic offers the finest
accommodations afloat, I'm told, but if there is anything that I can
do to make your voyage on Titanic more pleasant and satisfying, I
hope you will not hesitate to ask.

We shall be sailing shortly. Luncheon will be served in the Dining
Saloon at 1:00 PM, or if you prefer, there are three other restaurants
on board for your culinary pleasure. Cocktails will be served in the
reception room prior to dinner. The dinner bugle will be heard at 7:00
PM. Tonight, we expect to dock in Cherbourg, France towards sunset, and
be on our way again towards the end of the dinner hour. It should be
quite picturesque. In the meantime, please feel free to avail yourself
of the first class library, the gymnasium, the squash court, the Turkish
bath, the bathing pool, and the many other amenities of the ship
(http://www.titanicmovie.com/past/tour_index.html).

Once again, welcome to Titanic, and may I take this opportunity to wish
you an excellent voyage.

Good morning. I trust you slept well. Breakfast is being served in
the Dining Saloon. We are expecting to arrive in Queenstown, Ireland
shortly before luncheon. We will be taking on a few more passengers
and departing in the early afternoon, and then it's on to New York.
Luncheon and dinner will be served at their usual times. You're welcome
to look over the menu (http://www.titanicmovie.com/past/tour_index.html)
now, or stop by the Dining Saloon at any time.

As usual, the ship's facilities are at your service. It is a very mild,
clear day if you wish to stroll the Promenade or the Boat Deck. I wish
you a pleasant day aboard and once again, if I can be of any service,
please do not hesitate to ask.

Good morning. I hope you had a good night... our first real night at
sea. Breakfast is being served in the Dining Saloon, and luncheon and
dinner will be served at their usual times. The menu
(http://www.titanicmovie.com/past/tour_index.html) is available to you
now, or at any other time in the Dining Saloon. Many of the passengers
have remarked to me on how comfortable and steady the ship is. I hope you
find it so, too. Even so, we're making good speed, and I'm told we'll
probably be steaming even faster today.

As usual, the ship's facilities are at your service, and the weather is
holding quite nicely if you wish to enjoy the sea air on the Promenade.
Have a pleasant day aboard and once again, if I can be of any service,
please do not hesitate to ask.

Good morning. After breakfast, Captain Smith will be conducting the
worship service for the first class in the Dining Saloon. And it's
another lovely day. Turning out to be first class weather for our maiden
voyage. The ship's making excellent speed, in spite of how smooth she
feels. Mr. Ismay is quite enthusiastic. There's some talk that we may
make New York a day ahead of schedule. If you need to send ahead and let
your people know when we'll be in port, the men in the Marconi wireless
room (http://www.titanicmovie.com/past/comm_index.html) will be glad to
assist you as we get within sending distance of the mainland...sometime
later today, I think.

Enjoy your Sunday, and if there's anything I can do for you, please don't
hesitate to call upon me. It's such a pleasure serving nice folk like you.

Subject: Concerning RMS Titanic

We regret to inform you that on April 14, 1912, at 10:30 PM mid-Atlantic time, virtual Titanic #432 struck an iceberg and was seriously damaged. The ship hit the iceberg along the starboard bow, doing damage to the hull along the length of watertight compartments #1-5 and a small portion of #6. Under these conditions, the watertight compartment system was, in the long run, not equal to the task of keeping the ship afloat. She sank within 2 hours and 40 minutes. Distress calls were sent by Marconi Wireless. The liners Carpathia and Californian both responded to the calls, and made for Titanic immediately to rescue as many souls as possible. Preparations for evacuating the ship were commenced at 11:00 PM. The ship was seriously damaged, however as of this time it has not foundered, and attempts will be made to tow it safely to port. Using a combination of Titanic's boats and those of the steamers Carpathia and Californian, a large number of souls were saved. Of the 2201 !
aboard, 2067 were rescued, including 87% of the adult male first class passengers.

We are very relieved to inform you that you were among those rescued, and we hope you will have as comfortable a journey as possible to New York under these trying circumstances.
