Is "Maria" Maria McKee?

The 'Maria' mentioned in Mr. Jones, and in some other songs, is NOT Maria
McKee. She's fictional.
Maria McKee is a friend of the band's. She's on the same label, Geffen.
Adam sang on a song for the her new record (I'm not sure if they used it
-- that's easy to check). And she sang the back up vocals on 'Sullivan St.'
Maria is brilliant singer, sensitive and deep, and everybody should run
right out and buy her records.
